Northern Walleye Lodge: Dog Lake is absolutely stuffed with Smallmouth Bass. You catch them everywhere. It's a rocky lake with hundreds of islands and shoals and the perfect habitat for not only producing massive numbers of Smallmouth Bass; it produces big Trophy Smallmouth Bass. If you keep going along the shore casting you will come in and out of schools of Bass and can very easily catch 80 to 100 bass on a good day. Mixed in with the smaller bass may be a few bigger ones in the 3 to 5-pound range. Accommodations are in lakefront housekeeping cabins. They also offer fishing for Walleye, Northern Pike & Lake Trout.
Murray Lake Cottages & Outpost Camps is located south of Missanabie and between Wawa and Chapleau, Ontario. They and located on Murray Lake, which has outstanding Smallmouth Bass fishing with both high numbers and big trophies. Their guests can also get boat access to McMurty Lake and Dog Lake. If you like catching and eating Smallmouth Bass than it will take you a few minutes to catch lunch. The shoreline has hoards of Smallmouth Bass in the 1 to 3-pound range with quite a few bigger bass in the 4 and 5-pound range. If you specifically target Smallmouth Bass you should catch a 6-pounder and some of their guests have even caught Smallmouth over 7 pounds but a bass that size is rare. They also have boat caches on several remote backcountry portage lakes with great bass fishing. They have five lakefront housekeeping cabins that sleep between four and nine adults. They have two boat-to outpost camps on Loon Lake and Shikwamkwa Lake and both camps have fantastic. Their rates are the best in Ontario. They also have fishing for Walleye, Northern Pike, Lake Trout, Brook Trout and Perch.
